CHAPELS And beside the churches baroque or semi-baroque, like that of Bonvillard, a multitude of chapels mark out the commune. Since 16th century, each village considered a duty and an honour to build its chapel, and in the course of time the inhabitants have the care of maintaining them. On the commune, you can count eight oratories on the signposted footpaths. Each chapel is dedicated to a more or less specialised Saint: thus in the hamlet of Noiray, the St Sebastien's chapel, protector of the plague, was built after the epidemic of 1630 which didn't attain the village.
