To know the history and the traditions of Savoy, you can visit in Saint Jean de Maurienne, the Museum of the costumes and of the popular traditions where you will find a vast collection of costumes of Savoy, the reconstitution of a house of the Maurienne Valley, the archaeological remains and explanations on the religious art.

At Modane, the Museum of the Crossing of the Alps introduces to you several key buildings in the history of the canton of Modane. The monumental entry of the railway tunnel, the leaning house where it was hidden the powder to destroy the tunnel in the event of conflicts, and the Fortress "Saint Gobain", which aimed to the control of the roads and the tunnel.
